This month’s best Android apps list includes a launcher that operates in the speed of light (okay, I might be exaggerating here) and an ultra cool weather widget, among other helpful ones. So let’s take a closer look.

1. Firefox Rocket

Mozilla’s newest browser is ridiculously lightweight and measures less than 3 MB. Built for Android Go devices, Firefox Rocket is a stripped down version of the regular Firefox for Android and is one of the fastest mobile browsers around. Its unique Turbo mode when activated loads a web page quickly by blocking third-party ads and content. However, the coolest thing is its screenshot feature aptly named Shot. Using that you can grab a scrolling screenshot of any webpage to share or read it later. But that’s a feature every Android phone has, right? Well, with Rocket you can access the actual webpage whenever you want, and that too at breathtaking speed. Aside from that, Firefox Rocket has the option for single tab navigation, bookmarks, block images (to save data), and more. Download Firefox Rocket

2. Tor Browser

Not impressed with Firefox Rocket? How about we introduce you to Tor Browser? Tor Browser for Android helps you browse the web without being tracked. It’s based on Firefox v60 and combines both Orbot and Orfox into a whole new package. The fact that it automatically connects to Tor’s proxy network which makes it incredibly easy to use. Tor Browser is still in the alpha testing mode which means that you may encounter a couple of snags. Also, the browser still needs the Orbot proxy app for Tor access, which the company aims to remove in the future updates. Did you notice how there are no screenshots for Tor Browser floating around? That’s the grade of protection it aims to offer. Download Tor Browser

3. WaveEditor

WaveEditor is a handy app for recording and editing audio tracks. Apart from the primary audio editing functions like cut, trim, copy, fade in and fade out, this app also supports some advanced features like removing inaudible sound, DC offset, invert, etc. Also, WaveEditor comes with 32-bit floating point signal processing and an amplitude meter. If you know your way around audio track editing, you won’t find many issues with this app since it has a simple and straightforward interface. WaveEditor supports a variety of file formats such as MP3, MP4, WAV, FLAC, HTK, etc. However, the on-spot recordings are available in only WAV and MP3 formats. Download WaveEditor

4. Notion – Notes, Tasks, Wikis

Are you looking to replace Evernote or Google Keep? If yes, your search ends here. Notion is a project management tool suitable for professional and personal usage. It offers a flexible experience by letting you combine tasks, to-dos, project management activities, and more. It has many tools and features that can put other to-do lists and note-keeping apps to shame. If you are using it within a team, you will be able to mention your team members on tasks and notes. Besides that, Notion lets you add bulleted lists, pages, numbered pages, and quotes. The thing I loved about Notion is that you can manage your tasks with a set of simple drag and drop gestures. What’s more, the design is simple and sleek. Notion is available across all platforms and follows a simple login procedure. So you can access your work as well as to-do lists from PC or Android from anywhere. Download Notion

5. 4K Superheroes Wallpapers

From shape-shifting mutants to capped billionaire vigilantes to hammer-wielding gods with insane rage — the superheroes world is full of astonishing individuals and beings. If you are someone like me who shares a similar fondness for these superhumans and would like to keep them close, you are in luck! The 4K Superheroes Wallpapers app has a fantastic collection of high-resolution wallpapers for the fans of comic books and superhero movies as well as shows. The app is clean and feels like a regular Gallery app. You need to tap on the Plus icon to set an image as a wallpaper. It’s that simple! Are you a fan of Live wallpapers? If yes, you may want to try out the Grubl wallpaper app, which also has a great collection of 3D live wallpapers. But let me warn you, I found the app to be a tad slow. 6. POCO Launcher

Xiaomi’s POCO Launcher was initially exclusive to the POCO F1. However, it has been made available for other phones. With its fresh new design and quirky app drawer, the POCO Launcher seems like a breath of fresh air. The best thing about it is that you can group the apps by their icon colors and by category. Thus you can arrange the apps as per your convenience. What’s more, you can also drag the search bar to the bottom of the screen to easily use it in the one-handed mode. Download POCO Launcher

7. Overdrop

Bored of the standard weather widgets? If yes, say hi to Overdrop. This weather app bundles great animations and illustrations, and it doesn’t end there. The crux of this weather app is its collection of cool widgets that add a dash of zing to your home screen. From simple layouts to quirky ones, Overdrop is the perfect app for you if you love tweaking looks of your phone’s home screen often. Apart from that, you can try out themes. Download Overdrop

Bonus App: Unlisted

At times we are forced or obligated to give out our phone numbers even when we don’t want to in the first place. As you might already know, this poses a privacy risk. Keepsafe attempts to solve this problem through its new app called Unlisted. Unlisted brings you a range of temporary numbers which you can use when you are selling something online, or connecting with someone you barely know. In short, you can call it a burner number solution. Though the Unlisted app is free, the temporary numbers provided in it aren’t. You’d need to subscribe to the numbers, and the price starts at $2.99 per month for a single number. Download Unlisted

Go, Get Them

These are some of the best new apps that you can try out. Which one of these did you like the most? Well, I am all starry-eyed for Overdrop ever since I installed it. This unique weather widget looks great on the Infinity Display of my Galaxy Note 9. The above article may contain affiliate links which help support Guiding Tech.
