But the cool kid that Instagram is, it’s being totally chill about the whole thing. Instagram’s like, whatever dude. For you, though, the social media marketer who was told “we need an Instagram presence”, everything is not totally chill. To manage more than one account, you have to log out and log in again. This can start to get painful really fast. If you’re on Android, we’ve got a solution to ease your pain a bit. Using an app called Instwogram, you can run an additional Instagram account on your device (the first one being the official Instagram app).
How to Install Instwogram
Instwogram is not available on the Play Store for obvious reasons (it lets you do something Instagram doesn’t approve of). But thanks to the open nature of Android, and a clever developer, you can run it. Instwogram basically clones the Instagram app but manages to stay out of the way of the official app. It bypasses the Android limitation that says you can’t run two instances of the same app. Literally everything in the app is same. It also means that Instwogram app itself is going to be stable and familiar to use. Become an Instagram pro: Check out the best selfie apps for iOS and Android. If you’re a social media marketer, Canva will help you create awesome Instagram-ready posts and TakeOff will help you schedule Instagram posts. Before you can install the app, you’ll need to enable app installs from unknown sources. Go to Settings -> Security and enable Unknown sources. More on that here. On your phone, go to the XDA page for Instwogram and scroll down till you find the download link. At the time of writing, the text said Mediashare Download and the latest version was 6.18.0 (direct link here). Download the APK, and tap the downloaded file to start the installation process. Once it’s installed, open the app.
Setting Up and Using Instwogram
When you launch the app, you’ll see the familiar sign up or login screen for Instagram. If you already have an account, log in or sign up. Now you’re free to upload pictures, videos, comment on posts, like them, and more.
Instwogram Can Do Even More
This part is strictly for the Android pro user and it’s purely an add-on. If you’re rooted and have Xposed installed, you can download an add-on from Xposed called Instwogram Downloader that will let you download photos and videos from Instagram. We’ve already told you how to do this. The easy way and the hard way (using Xposed).
How Are You Going to Use Multiple Instagram Accounts?
Are you a social media manager who’s going to use Instwogram to manage client accounts or are you going to use this for your personal accounts? Do you wish there was Insthreegram or Insfourgarm as well? Will just two accounts be enough for you or will you be playing the sign out, sign in game with Instwogram now?
